Commercial strategy and strategic partnerships
OGZ Ventures helps businesses clarify the commercial structure of a growth opportunity, a market entry proposal or a prospective partnership. Our cross-border advisory focus connects project preparation with the practical decisions needed to assess opportunities across Africa and the GCC.
Start with the commercial question
Before approaching counterparties, establish what your business needs from the transaction: a delivery partner, market access, a route to customers, a contractual framework or a clearer investment proposition. The engagement begins by defining that objective and the decisions the client needs to make.
Possible advisory deliverables
- A commercial opportunity brief setting out the proposition, intended customer and business objective.
- A review of market-entry options, key assumptions and information still needed.
- A partnership framework covering proposed roles, responsibilities, dependencies and decision points.
- Preparation of a counterparty brief and supporting materials for authorised discussions.
- An execution plan with milestones, ownership and outstanding commercial questions.
Transaction structuring and preparation
A strategic partnership may involve a joint venture, supply arrangement, licensing proposal or project collaboration. We can help compare the commercial options within an agreed scope. Definitive contracts, tax advice, technical assurance and regulated activities require the relevant specialist appointments and permissions.
How we work
First, send a non-confidential summary of the business, relevant countries, opportunity, existing counterparties and intended timing. We assess whether the request fits our capabilities, identify the proposed deliverables and agree the appropriate private mandate. Information exchange can then proceed under agreed confidentiality protections.
Fees follow the agreed mandate
The general OGZ advisory mandate and the mandate incorporating STRATUM are separate documents. The appropriate signed mandate, including any written fee negotiation or amendment, takes priority. An enquiry does not appoint OGZ or create an obligation to pay. Commercial introductions, funding and transaction outcomes are not guaranteed.
